Getting there
After Wu Xuan, turn right and climb the left staircase to the cooling spot bell. Head up the stairs beside it, take the narrow alley’s right-hand stairs to the second-floor house bell, drop into the courtyard below, clear it, turn right, and take the zip-line from beside the dead tree. Follow the street to the end to reach the pond with distant singing, where she engages.
The darkness phase
The arena goes black. When it comes back, it is always one of two things:
- An unblockable attack — read it off audio and the shape of the wind-up.
- Her purple fireball — telegraphed by her distinct laugh and purple flames gathering around her.
Keep your distance through the dark. Every death in this phase comes from standing in the middle guessing.
The fireball is a gift
The fireball is heavily telegraphed and fully parryable. Perfect parry it as it reaches you and it flies back into her for direct damage plus a burn over time.
This is the cleanest damage source in the fight, and it is entirely on your timing rather than her pattern. Learn the laugh-to-impact gap once and the darkness phase stops being scary.
Her two grabs
| Grab | Shape |
|---|---|
| Flying sweep | Airborne — she hovers or leaps up, then sweeps in |
| Handstand grab | Half backflip onto her hands, red glint, then legs reach out |
The flying sweep happens whenever she is in the air, and she can start it from the ground by jumping first — so “she is on the ground” is not safety.
The handstand grab is the honest one: distinctive animation, clear red glint. Dodge on the glint and it never lands.
The arm flurries
Her rapid arm-swing flurry is worth parrying rather than blocking: deflecting those hits drains a massive chunk of her guard. The final hit of the spinning combo flashes blue, so perfect parry that last one for a Ghoststep and the retaliation you have earned.
Blocking the flurry is survivable but slow. Parrying it is how the fight shortens.
Gear
| Slot | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Main weapon | Outlaw Warblade | Healing; the fight is long but low-pressure |
| Defence | Parry the fireball, dodge the legs | Two different answers |
| Accessory | Guard break or Sha-Chi | Her guard drops fast if you parry the flurries |
| Avoid | Chasing her into the dark | Position first, damage second |
Rewards
Fanatic’s Fragment: Fixation — a Fanatic’s Fragment piece, part of the collection chain that pays off later.
Notes
- Darkness always ends in one of two moves. Learn both cues.
- The laugh means fireball. Parry on impact, not on the laugh.
- The fireball burns her. Best damage in the fight.
- Flying sweep can start from the ground. She jumps first.
- Parry the arm flurry’s last hit. Blocking it wastes the guard damage.
