Seven encounters, eight listed fights
The count is the one thing this chapter really gets wrong in most write-ups, and it is not a typo:
- Seven fights happen in Village of Lu.
- Eight things get listed, because Iron Fiend and Jade Dancer have their own moveset and their own drops and so get listed as a boss.
They are Mu Xiaokui’s third phase. She steps back, they take the fight. There is no second arena and no second entrance. We list all eight on the roster because people search for them by name, but the encounter count is seven.
The one thing you can lose: five ribbons
Before you take the elevator to Mu Xiaokui, collect all five ribbons around Village of Lu to finish the Young Mistress questline. Do that and her fight has a third phase — the Iron Fiend and Jade Dancer duo, which drops Fiend Saws and Fist Fragment: Core. Skip it and the fight ends after two phases.

How the chapter escalates
The three master remnants are a difficulty staircase, and each one teaches a different defensive habit:
- Bi Yuan opens the pattern — a single-duel boss with clean tells.
- Bi Hai adds adds. You fight monks in waves while he lobs ranged attacks; the wave clear is the fight, not the boss.
- Yuzan flips it: parry the white orbs back at her and she breaks her own guard. She also drops black holes at roughly 60% and 30% health — leave the centre of the room.
Then Mu Xiaokui condenses all three lessons: phase 2 adds black-flash chains, phase 3 is a two-on-one.
Name collisions in this chapter
Two names here cause most of the search confusion:
- Iron Fiend vs Iron Fever — “Iron Fever” is one word away from Stone Hand Iron Fever, a Crimson Forest boss two chapters earlier. The guardian’s name is Iron Fiend.
- Mu Xiaokui vs Mi Xiaokui — the standard spelling is Mu. “Mi” appears in some weapon lists.
Neither is a translation issue; both are spelling drift in English coverage.
Notes
- Bastion from Zhuo Bi is required for the Brass Chest Guard dungeon back in Crimson Forest — do not skip him if you are collecting accessories.
- Yuzan’s Heartend Pipa is a Phantom Edge, not a weapon drop; it goes into the armed slot.
- The elevator is one-way in practice. Finish your Village of Lu collecting before you ride it.
